Woodlands Estate

Environment

Environmental scientists maintain that carbon sequestration, also known as carbon capture, by trees assists in the mitigation of global warming through the large-scale capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

During the early life its olive trees, up to around eight years of age, the Woodlands Olive Grove will sequester (capture) carbon. Thereafter, as the trees are matured, they will store carbon. We believe this makes Woodlands Olive Grove actually carbon positive as it absorbs and stores up to ten times more carbon than natural grass and pastures alone.

You can read more about carbon sequestration here.

In the management of our trees and land we always seek to exercise the lowest impact and sustainable agricultural processes available, while still taking the necessary and traditional steps to continue to produce the highest quality extra virgin olive oil and table olives.
